Chikkamagaluru is the geographically a small district with beautiful nature and situated in the western Ghats. There are 8 Taluks and most part of the district is covered with hill station and only the eastern part of the district is covered with dry area. Chikkamagaluru district is rich in forest resources, hill stations, water resources. Major commercial crops like Coffee , Pepper, Areca, Coconut, food grains and vegetables are also grown in the district.
